Obsidian Adornments is the creative vision of a Swedish-Indigenous Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) artist born and raised on the prairies of Alberta, Canada & now based in British Columbia, Canada. With a deep-rooted love for body modification, jewelry, and the raw beauty of natural materials, their work reflects a powerful fusion of ancestral craft and modern ritual adornment.
From an early age, they were immersed in traditional Indigenous beadwork — a practice that instilled patience, precision, and reverence for materials passed down through generations. As their artistic journey evolved, so did a desire to explore new forms of body-centered expression. Obsidian Adornments was born from this path — a line of handcrafted ear weights and adornments shaped from stone, metal, and other natural elements.
Each piece is created with intention, drawing on folklore, personal identity, and the tactile magic of the earth. At its core, Obsidian Adornments is a celebration of heritage, body sovereignty, and the sacred bond between maker, wearer, and the materials that connect us to land and lineage.
